			Bayfield, WI, on Lake Superior, is a beautiful location to visit - any time of the year. And a wonderful place to live.

			With early retirement came the opportunity to build two cottages 180 degrees different, in a place we cherished, that just happens to be a very popular vacation destination.

			The name came after years of sailing our schooner on Lake Superior and the desire to live where nature - its sounds, smells, seasons - would provide a restfulness, a solace far too absent in modern life. Looking for a place to stay during your visit to Bayfield? Where what you see and hear are creations of nature? Where deer gracefully come and go, woodpeckers & other feathered friends are the only sound in the morning, and black bear roam the forest of oak, maple and pine? Sailor's Solace is a place like that! Our cottages are spacious, new, modern and comfortable. You are invited to relax at our private place of peace and solitude nestled in the great North Woods!
