retirement came the opportunity to build two cottages 180 degrees different, in a place we
cherished, that just happens to be a very popular vacation destination. |

The name
came after years
of sailing our schooner on Lake Superior and the desire to live where
nature - its sounds,
smells, seasons - would provide a restfulness, a solace far too absent in modern life. Looking for a place to stay during your visit to Bayfield? Where what you see and hear are creations of nature? Where humming birds feeding at your deck are a common sight, deer gracefully come and go, and black bear roam the forest of oak, maple and pine? Sailor's Solace is a place like that!
